I had my Classic Wide now for a while and went back and forth with it for one and only one reason.
Let me start with saying what is good:
The leather is supremely soft and supple, almost like silk.
Color is great and the markings look fantastic.
It got made to my specifications and delivered all the way to Germany in a timely manner.
Now on to the bad. And you might wonder, what could such a simple device get wrong?
The backside.
The back side of the strap (mine at least!) is completely unfinished. That is not entirely unheard of and one might think that is okay. It is this rough, fuzzy side of the leather which is causing the strap to fail at its job for me, though.
Whenever I wear this strap, I know my camera will not accidentally slip from my shoulders, due to the friction caused between the rough underside and cloth. That can be said in its defence. However, this actually prevents me from sliding the camera into shooting position smoothly.
I have to lift the strap from my shoulder as to not catch my shirt. This ruined the experience for me.
This will not be the case for everyone. But beware of this!
Other than that, it would have been a five star.
