Welcome
After having spent over 10 years as a professional product designer, doing my part to bring the visions of other brands into fruition, I decided to venture off on my own. At the time, I was unsure of what that could look like but I did know that I wanted to utilize the skillsets acquired over that time and combine them with my deep rooted passion for photography to carve out a unique space. This space would allow me to get back to a hands on approach of making and crafting that was missing in my professional design career. In the fall of 2012, Tap & Dye was established as a quality goods brand, rooted in an affinity for exceptional craftsmanship and design. Founded on the simple principle of quality above all else with an emphasis on creating heritage items for the photographer that will last for generations.
Each good is made to order to uphold the highest quality standards, so quality control begins and ends with me. And as no two goods are alike, they will age beautifully and uniquely for each owner. It is currently a small, one person operation based out of my humble 300 sq/ft studio space in Brooklyn, NY where I design and craft every good. Lead times will change relative to the work load but you will always be updated on the progress before it is ready to ship. I treat each good you purchase as a piece of art and will ensure it arrives safely no matter what.
My products are handcrafted from extremely durable, vegetable dyed full grain cowhide leather sourced from Horween, Chicago's oldest tannery that has existed since 1905. All hardware components are sourced from vendors and manufacturers within the U.S which means that when you support this brand, you are in turn supporting an ecosystem of American manufacturers and vendors as well. And that's a good thing.
Thank you for your interest in this brand. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. I will do my best to respond to your inquiries within a timely manner.
